What it feels like now

Northern inland Busan: Dongnae, Oncheoncheon and Geumjeongsan

Plan this north-inland area in separate blocks: Dongnae fortress and Bokcheon Museum for history, Oncheoncheon/Allak for riverside cafes, Oncheonjang for hot springs, and Beomeosa/Geumjeongsan for a mountain day. For the October 16–18 Dongnae Eupseong Festival, North Gate and Cultural Center are uphill from the nearest rail stations. The official festival shuttle from Line 1 Dongnae Exit 3 goes to the Cultural Center (about every 10 minutes); the shuttle from Line 4 Myeongjang Exit 3 goes to Bokcheon Museum parking (about every 20 minutes). Friday service is 16:00–21:00 and weekend service 10:00–21:00, with last departures from stations at 20:40. Festival venues span multiple neighborhoods; do not assume the same program time or direct walking route everywhere. The Allak cafe street is not the LaLaLa Festival site near Pusan National University Station.

What's new

New & interesting

Bokcheon Museum's free anniversary exhibition on horses in Korean history runs September 22–November 22, 2026 (Tue–Sun 09:00–18:00, last entry 17:00; check holiday closures). Three distinct October outings must not be confused: the Dongnae Eupseong History Festival is October 16–18 around Dongnae Cultural Center, North Gate Plaza, Myeongnyun and Oncheonjang, requiring venue-specific planning and uphill routes; the separate Geumjeongsanseong Fortress Festival is also October 16–18 but at Geumjeongsanseong Plaza/Geumseong-dong mountain village, reachable by mountain bus or a current festival shuttle, not by a short walk from a subway station; the LaLaLa Festival is October 23–25 at the Oncheoncheon site under Pusan National University Station, not Allak cafe street. Organizer information dated October 8 adds coupon-based 5% discounts at selected Geumjeongsanseong village shops; verify participating vendors and conditions. Check daily programs, actual shuttle timetables and weather rather than relying on earlier festival-year pages.
