Bongnaesan Mountain, Yeongdo
Yeongdo's 395 m central mountain, offering a compact but genuinely hilly hike with panoramic views over Busan Port, the old downtown, Songdo, Oryukdo and the eastern skyline. It is a mountain destination, not a casual extension of Huinnyeoul's village walk.

Christophe95 / Wikimedia CommonsSources & further readingThe mountain is free and open year-round. In 2026 Yeongdo District also ran guided evening trekking programs here, confirming its role as a night-view asset, but those spring sessions have ended. Independent autumn hikers should plan for steep sections, earlier sunset and their own lighting if descending after dark.
Why go
Choose Bongnaesan when you want an active half-day and a high viewpoint over the whole city rather than another seaside promenade. Several trailheads are possible; the Mokjangwon-side route reaches forest roads before a steeper final climb to the summit decks.
