Yeongdo Coastal and Cultural Zone

Plan Yeongdo as six distinct visitor blocks rather than one continuous coastal walk: Yeongdo Bridge and working-shipyard Kangkangee near downtown; Huinnyeoul's upper residential lanes; the lower Jeoryeong coastal path; mountainous Bongnaesan; the southern Taejongdae cliffs and forest; and the National Maritime Museum at Dongsam-dong for families and rainy days.

What it feels like now

Yeongdo Coastal and Cultural Zone

Yeongdo has no metro station, and its attractions are spread across the island. Use buses or short taxi rides between Kangkangee, Huinnyeoul, Taejongdae and the museum; allow Bongnaesan a separate hiking session. Do not assume the whole lower coastal path is open: slope-reinforcement work has led to staged reopening of safe sections.

New & interesting

The 34th Yeongdo Bridge Festival is planned for October 30–November 1, 2026 at Amir Park and the Bongnae-dong waterfront: check the timetable for each venue. Busan Tourism Organization's October 9 notice says the Taejongdae Danubi train remains suspended for safety checks. A free temporary circuit bus operates Wednesday–Sunday, 09:30–17:30, with limited on-site boarding passes and weather restrictions. The National Maritime Museum's 'Opening of Busan Port: 150 Years' exhibition is scheduled to end October 11; verify before a last-day visit.
