Current practical coverage

Useful Stories, Places and Neighborhoods are pulled into this hub as coverage grows. Frequently changing facts should live in one canonical guide rather than being copied across many pages.

From Incheon or Cheongju Airport to Daejeon: choose rail or bus by where you are staying

Incheon Airport gives you a direct Daejeon bus or an AREX-plus-rail route through Seoul; Cheongju Airport offers direct buses to Daejeon Terminal Complex and Yuseong plus a nearby rail station.

Recheck the exact airport-bus departure, Daejeon stop and rail service after your flight time is known; for Incheon arrivals, allow immigration time before committing to the last bus or train.

Getting around Daejeon: subway, bus, taxi and transit cards

Use Subway Line 1 as the city spine, buses for places beyond the rail corridor, and taxis when luggage, late hours or a direct trip matter more than cost.

Recheck current fares, bus routing, first/last trains and late-night taxi surcharges on the official Daejeon city and transportation pages before a time-sensitive trip.

Daejeon Station to the Expo, science and Dunsan arts district: use Line 1, then plan the last leg

DCC, the National Science Museum, Hanbat Arboretum, Daejeon Arts Center and the Yeonjeong Korean Traditional Music Center sit in one broad visitor zone, but none is simply 'at' Government Complex Station. Use Line 1 as the spine and choose the final bus, taxi or walk by destination.

Confirm the exact DCC building or destination, then recheck the last bus/walk on the day of travel. For Yeonjeong, save `대전시립연정국악원` and choose the live bus route by your starting point and performance time; event traffic, road works and bus operations can change.

Getting to Daejeon O-World: plan the bus or taxi last leg before you leave

O-World is away from Daejeon's Line 1 visitor spine, so it is a destination where checking the final road leg matters more than memorizing one subway station. Jung-gu's official tourism page lists six city-bus routes and free on-site parking; use live routing for the exact trip from your starting point.

Check the current Korean map/transit route from your actual starting point before leaving. The official visitor page lists buses 115, 301, 311, 314, 315 and 318, but stops and service patterns can change.

Daejeon Station to Soje-dong: use the East Square for the railway-village and Dongrak Festival side

Daejeon Station has two very different visitor directions. For Soje-dong Cafe Street, the former railway housing village and the Dong-gu Dongrak Festival area, use the station’s East Square side rather than heading into the old downtown on the opposite side.

At Daejeon Station, confirm that you are following East Square / 동광장 signs. During festivals, use a live Korean map after exiting if you need one specific stage, booth or cafe entrance.

Daejeon is easier by rail than it looks: use Daejeon Station and Line 1 as the city spine

Daejeon has more than one rail/bus gateway, but the practical center of a first visit is simple: Daejeon Station, the subway Line 1 corridor, and the Yuseong/Government Complex side of the city.

Confirm the exact rail or bus terminal printed on your ticket, then recheck current subway and terminal service before travel.
