Jean-Michel Othoniel: In the Labyrinth of Love

Jean-Michel Othoniel's first Busan solo exhibition runs August 28-December 31, 2026 at F1963's Sukcheon Hall and Moonlight Garden. Busan Metropolitan City lists hours of 10:00-18:00, Tuesday-Sunday, with Monday closure. Tickets are listed at KRW 10,000 for adults (19+), KRW 8,000 for ages 13-18 and KRW 6,000 for ages 3-12. The city frames it as an official collaborative exhibition for World Design Capital Busan 2028 and as a meeting of contemporary art with F1963's reused industrial architecture. Live ticket availability, guided-language options and holiday exceptions were not tested.

2026 부산비엔날레 — 불협하는 합창

Busan Biennale 2026 runs August 29–November 1 across three venues on Eulsukdo and Yeongdo: Museum of Contemporary Art Busan, Space OneZ and the former Busan Nam High School. Regular exhibition hours are Tuesday–Sunday 10:00–18:00. The MoCA venue costs KRW 16,000 for adults, KRW 8,000 for teens/military/police and KRW 5,000 for children; Space OneZ and the former school are free. A complimentary shuttle links the three venues, and multilingual QR audio guides are available.

2026 Starry Night in Busan: Autumn Night Market

A recurring night market runs at Hwamyeong Ecological Park every Thursday through Sunday from September 26 to October 18, 2026. Hours are 17:00–22:00 Thursday through Saturday and 16:00–21:00 Sunday. The program combines traditional Korean liquor, food stalls, picnic/campnic space, self-cooking and hands-on activities, a flea market and selected wellness/kids programs. Fees vary by activity and pre-registration is recommended for some hands-on sessions.

Festival Shiwol 2026

Festival Shiwol runs throughout October 2026 across Busan, linking 22 events in music and culture, film and arts, and business and innovation. Busan Metropolitan City lists October 1-31 as the overall period, with major programs including the Busan International Rock Festival, Busan International Film Festival, FLY ASIA, the Busan International Food Expo and later October garden and performance events. An integrated information hub operates at Busan Eurasia Platform from October 1-18 with event guidance and stamp-tour content. Individual event tickets, reservations, venue hours and language support vary and should be checked separately.

Multiple screening venues in Busan

Busan International Film Festival 2026

The 31st Busan International Film Festival runs October 6–15, 2026. Its Community BIFF program takes place October 8–11 at Nampo BIFF Square, Megabox Busan Theater, and Catholic Center Space 101.1. Outdoor screenings are scheduled for October 8–10; activity booths and Kubi Road run October 8–11; the Nampo finale is scheduled for October 11 at 19:00. The ticket booth on the 4th floor of Megabox Busan Theater operates October 8–11, 09:30–20:00 (it stays open until 15 minutes after a final screening starts if that start is later than the regular closing time). Tickets are KRW 10,000 for general screenings, KRW 15,000 for Blind Cinema, and KRW 25,000 for Chwiseongmongsa. English subtitles are available only for selected films; check the individual screening listing for times, availability, and changes.
