The easiest mistake to make with the 2026 World Island Fair in Yeosu is to imagine a single exhibition hall. The official program is distributed across the main Dolsan venue, Gaedo, Geumodo and linked city sites.
That changes how a visitor should plan. The main venue carries the largest concentration of exhibitions and visitor services, but island programming includes camping, art, food demonstrations, wellness activities, walking routes and other scheduled experiences. On October 4, for example, the official schedule lists activity at the main venue as well as Gaedo and Geumodo.
Transport is therefore part of the editorial story, not a footnote. Yeosu is operating multiple shuttle routes during the fair period, including direct service from Yeosu Expo Station to the main venue, while temporary parking and road changes are in force around Dolsan. Official guidance also describes free treatment on designated Dolsan and island bus routes when using a transport card.
For foreign visitors, the current infrastructure is unusually explicit. The official English site lists tablet-based interpretation at information and ticket points, QR-based translation and chatbot help inside the grounds, and rental support for wheelchairs, walking aids and strollers. Those services do not make every island transfer equally simple, but they reduce some of the basic friction at the main venue.
The calendar also needs to be read carefully. October 6 is marked as a closed day for the main venue, while selected island programs continue. Weather and on-site conditions can also change operations. The practical way to use the fair is to choose one main-venue block and, if time allows, add one island program rather than assuming every site works as a single continuous expo.
