Wonju's loop city-tour bus is useful if you arrive by train or intercity bus and want to connect several attractions without renting a car. The current official route links Wonju Station, Wonju Intercity Bus Terminal, Manjong Station, Seowonju Station, Sogeumsan Grand Valley, Oak Valley, Museum SAN, Gangwon Gamyeong and the traditional-market area.
Wonju City currently lists a one-day pass at KRW 5,000 for adults and KRW 3,000 for teenagers/children, disabled travelers, military personnel and people aged 65 or older. A two-day pass is KRW 8,000 for adults and KRW 5,000 for those groups; one child under 36 months rides free with an accompanying adult.
The bus is hop-on, hop-off and the city says it operates six times per day. The current page lists four main loops starting at Wonju Station at 09:20, 10:40, 15:40 and 17:00, plus two attraction-focused circuits. Road traffic can delay the times, so use them as planning times rather than guaranteed arrivals.
No advance reservation is required for the ordinary pass. Pay the driver on site by cash or bank card; the city explicitly says transit cards are not accepted for this ticket. Keep the physical ticket because boarding can be refused if you cannot show it.
The current operating rule is closed Mondays, except when Monday is a public holiday, with additional closure dates including January 1, March 2, August 17, and the day of Seollal and Chuseok. Temporary non-operation notices also appear on the tourism site, so check the city page again before a holiday or festival trip.
