Taean is a bus-first destination

Taean County's official visitor information lists intercity-bus approaches from Seoul and Daejeon. Travelers coming by train are directed to connect onward by bus, including via Hongseong or Cheonan rather than expecting a rail station in Taean town.

Treat the terminal and the coast as two different trips

Arriving at Taean Bus Terminal does not mean you have reached your beach, harbor or peninsula attraction. Coastal destinations are spread out, and the final local bus or taxi can be the time-consuming part of the day. Before buying the long-distance ticket, identify the exact beach, port or village and check how you will cover that last segment.

Do not build a trip around a static timetable alone

The county page is useful for understanding the main corridors, but exact departures can change. Use it to choose the correct gateway, then confirm the operating schedule with the current bus booking or terminal information for your date. For ferries or cruises, check the specific port and operator separately; a county list of ports is not a sailing guarantee.

A safer no-car pattern

Choose one coastal zone per day, avoid chaining distant beaches across the peninsula, and leave a taxi buffer when a local return bus is infrequent. If you have an evening intercity bus back to Seoul or another city, work backward from that departure before adding the final attraction.
