Who this is for
Use Seoul public Wi-Fi when you need to check maps, messages or travel information without using mobile data. It is especially useful around major public spaces, markets, parks, bus stops and municipal facilities.
What Seoul currently provides
The Seoul Metropolitan Government says it operates tens of thousands of public Wi-Fi units across the city. In 2026 the city is replacing older equipment and expanding higher-quality coverage in major visitor areas.
How to use it sensibly
Turn on Wi-Fi when you are in a public facility or busy city space and look for the official Seoul public network indicated on site. Connection names and authentication details can change, so follow the current sign or official city instructions rather than relying on an old screenshot.
Do not make it your only connection
Public Wi-Fi can be unavailable, congested or absent exactly when you need a route, ticket or payment screen. Keep a SIM, eSIM or roaming fallback if you need dependable connectivity for late-night navigation, airport transfers or reservations.
Security
Treat any public network as shared infrastructure. Avoid entering sensitive financial or account information unless you are using a secure connection you trust, and confirm you are joining the official network shown by the city or facility.
