Jinju has no subway, so most car-free visitors rely on city buses for the station, intercity terminals, Jinju Fortress and outer districts.
The official Jinju Bus Information Management System (BIMS) provides route search, stop search, trip planning, live vehicle positions and timetable downloads. Use it on the day of travel instead of relying on an old screenshot.
Current adult city-bus fare is KRW 1,700 cash or KRW 1,650 by transport card. The official fare page lists T-money and Cashbee among accepted prepaid cards. A transport card is also necessary for the free-transfer rule.
For a free transfer, tap both when boarding and when getting off, then transfer within 30 minutes of the recorded exit time. The system allows one free transfer. It does not apply between the same route number, and one card used for multiple passengers only gives the transfer benefit to one person.
Jinju's bus office has been posting special timetable changes around major October events. A notice for October 3, 2026, for example, temporarily increased service on routes 120, 250, 251, 280 and 290. That means festival visitors should check the BIMS notices and the live route immediately before travel rather than memorizing a normal-day schedule.
If you leave property on a bus, the official fare page directs passengers to contact the operating company; it lists Samsung Transportation 055-752-1611, Jinju Citizen Bus 055-746-1201, and Busan/Boil Transportation 055-745-8115. For route and service complaints, the city transport office number shown by BIMS is 055-752-5000.
