Gimpo Airport has more than one rail option

The airport station connects to Seoul Subway Line 5, Line 9, Airport Railroad (AREX) and the Gimpo Goldline. That makes Gimpo much easier to use than an airport with a single rail corridor, but it also means you should choose by destination rather than automatically following one train sign.

Pick the line that matches the rest of your trip

AREX is useful when your route follows the airport-rail corridor. Line 5 and Line 9 serve different parts of Seoul and can reduce transfers depending on your hotel or meeting point. The Gimpo Goldline is mainly relevant for travel toward Gimpo City. Use a current route planner for the exact destination and compare transfers, not just headline travel time.

Know which passenger terminal you are using

Gimpo has separate domestic and international passenger terminals. Korea Airports Corporation currently lists a free airport shuttle serving passenger and cargo areas from 06:00 to 23:00, with 25-minute intervals around 06:00–07:00 and 21:00–23:00 and roughly 15–20-minute intervals through most of 07:00–21:00. A passenger-terminal-only shuttle is listed from 08:00 to 23:00 at roughly 12–15-minute intervals. The airport lists boarding near International Terminal Gate 5 and Domestic Terminal Gate 8.

These operating details are time-sensitive. If you have luggage, limited mobility or a tight connection, recheck the airport's shuttle page on the day instead of assuming a short walk.

Buses and taxis are alternatives, not afterthoughts

The airport also has bus and taxi services. Bus routes and road conditions are more time-sensitive than the rail map, so check the current airport transport page or live transit information on the day. A taxi may be simpler for a group, heavy luggage or a destination poorly served by direct rail.

For an early or late flight

Confirm the first or last usable connection for your exact line rather than relying on a general airport opening time. The free terminal shuttle is not a 24-hour service. If the rail or shuttle connection is too tight, compare a taxi or airport bus before the travel day.
