Daegu International Airport is not directly attached to a subway station. Korea Airports Corporation directs subway users to Ayanggyo Station on Line 1, about 1.8 km from the airport, then recommends connecting by bus or taxi. The airport currently lists Express 1, Palgong 1, 401 and 101-1 among the bus links between Ayanggyo and the airport.
If you plan to use city buses, prepare a transportation card before boarding. Daegu Metropolitan City has operated all city buses cash-free since April 1, 2025, with cash boxes removed. Do not board expecting to pay the driver with notes or coins.
Daegu's urban rail uses a flat fare. The city currently lists the adult fare as KRW 1,500 with a transportation card and KRW 1,700 for a single-use ticket. A single-use metro ticket can therefore be a fallback for rail travel, but it does not solve the cash-free bus problem.
For travelers with luggage or a late/early flight, a taxi may be simpler than walking or making the Ayanggyo transfer. The airport publishes taxi guidance, but actual fare and travel time depend on traffic and destination.
Practical next step: decide before landing whether you will take a taxi or connect through Ayanggyo. If using buses anywhere in Daegu, make sure you have a working transportation card rather than relying on cash.
