Boryeong City's official 2026 beach plan set Daecheon Beach's operating season for July 4 to August 23 and Muchangpo Beach's for July 11 to August 23. The city also said swimming hours would begin at 09:00 during the operating season.
For an autumn visitor, the important point is that the managed summer swimming season has ended. The city kept additional safety personnel at both beaches from June 1 through September 30 outside the formal opening period, but that extra 2026 period has also passed.
Do not treat an open beach, warm weather or other people in the water as proof that supervised swimming is operating. Check current Boryeong notices and on-site flags or instructions before entering the sea, especially after storms or strong wind.
The 2026 pet-beach and sand-play program ran July 24–August 9 with the Mud Festival period, so it should not be assumed available now.
