## Andong is not one walkable heritage zone The station, downtown food/market areas and riverside city sights form one urban base. Major heritage sites such as Hahoe Village, Dosan Seowon, Byeongsan Seowon and Bongjeongsa sit outside that core. The useful planning rule is simple: **walk the city; schedule the outer heritage sites as separate bus/taxi blocks.** ## Hahoe Village Andong Tourism currently lists several public-transport options for Hahoe Village, including Rapid 2, route 210, Pungcheon 2 and a Hahoe shuttle. That makes Hahoe workable without a rental car, but it should still be treated as a half-day or full-day movement block rather than as a quick downtown stop. Check the live timetable before leaving and, importantly, check the return service before entering the village. ## Byeongsan Seowon and Hahoe are related but not identical stops The official guide lists route 210 for Byeongsan Seowon. Do not assume a bus that serves Hahoe automatically matches the timing or stop you need for Byeongsan. If you want both in one day, compare the current timetable with a taxi segment. ## Dosan Seowon and Bongjeongsa are different directions Andong Tourism lists Rapid 3 / 512 for Dosan Seowon and Rapid 2 / 310 for Bongjeongsa. These are separate outer-site corridors. Trying to combine all major temples/seowon in one public-transport day can create more waiting than sightseeing. ## Wolyeonggyo is much easier from the city Wolyeonggyo is served by city bus 112 in the official guide and sits much closer to the urban sightseeing pattern. It is therefore a better candidate for an evening or partial-day city itinerary than the farther heritage sites. ## A practical two-layer itinerary **Layer 1 — City:** station/downtown → market/food → Wolyeonggyo/river area. **Layer 2 — Outer heritage:** choose one major direction such as Hahoe/Byeongsan OR Dosan OR Bongjeongsa, then build the day around the bus/taxi return. ## Taxis can be strategically useful A taxi is most useful for linking two outer sites when the bus timetable creates a long dead period. For a group, compare the total taxi cost with the time saved rather than defaulting to multiple uncertain transfers. ## Check live transport Andong’s official tourism site provides real-time bus links and route guidance. Use those current tools on the travel day rather than relying on an old blog schedule.

Andong without a car: separate the station/city from Hahoe Village, Dosan Seowon and other outer sites
Andong’s historic attractions are spread out. The station and city center are one base; Hahoe Village, Dosan Seowon and Bongjeongsa need their own bus or taxi planning.
Andong Tourism currently publishes destination-specific bus routes to Hahoe Village, Dosan Seowon, Bongjeongsa, Byeongsan Seowon and Wolyeonggyo. That makes a practical car-free guide possible using current official route structure.

What we're seeing
Andong’s difficulty is distance, not complexity. Once the urban base and outer heritage corridors are separated, car-free planning becomes much more realistic.
What we still don't know
Bus routes, departure times, shuttle operations and attraction hours can change. Some outer-site combinations may be impractical without a taxi depending on the day’s timetable.
