Sunchang Traditional Gochujang Village & Fermentation Theme Park

A food-culture cluster in Sunchang that brings traditional jang-making, working producers, exhibitions and family-oriented fermentation facilities into one visitable area. It is useful for understanding gochujang, doenjang and other fermented sauces as part of a living regional food system rather than only packaged products.

Why it matters now

The cluster is the main venue for the 21st Sunchang Jangryu Festival, currently scheduled for October 15-18, 2026. Even outside the festival, the Fermentation Theme Park operates exhibition and play facilities year-round, making the area useful beyond a single event.

Why go

Go to connect the food on the table with the places and people behind it. The area combines traditional gochujang producers with the Fermentation Theme Park’s exhibition and experience facilities. Individual facilities have different fees, reservation rules and session limits, especially on weekends and holidays.
