Seoul Namsan Traditional Theater
A traditional-music performance venue inside Namsangol Hanok Village, with a hanok-style exterior and an underground performance hall designed for Korean traditional music. The stage can be reconfigured between proscenium and thrust arrangements.
The 4th Korean Jangdan Music Festival “Jangdan Yuhui” is scheduled at Seoul Namsan Gugakdang on October 10–11, 2026. The official detail page confirms the October 10 program runs 15:00–21:00 across the outdoor plaza and Crown Haitai Hall; a one-day pass costs KRW 30,000. A free Jangdan Academy session on October 10, 15:00–16:00 requires advance registration. Late entry and re-entry may be restricted, and the venue has no dedicated parking, so arrive early and use public transit.
Why go
It is a useful place to see gugak as a contemporary live performance rather than only as museum heritage, with a program that includes traditional, collaborative and experimental productions.
