Why it matters now

Checked Gokseong County’s official tourism and notice pages on 7 October 2026. The 26th Simcheong Children’s Festival takes place here on 8–11 October; the Namdo Content Fair shares the Train Village site on 9–11 October. The county reviewed crowd, traffic, parking and visitor-flow safety plans in anticipation of more family visitors, but the notices checked do not specify road-closure hours or a separate shuttle timetable. On opening day, Gokseong Night runs 15:00–21:00 around Jungang-ro and Gamseongchungjeon-gil in downtown Gokseong; a night market at the Train Village Traditional Market is planned for 9–11 October. These events have different locations and times, so check the day’s official notices and allow for congestion.

Why go

Choose it for a low-stress rural day trip with children or for travelers who enjoy heritage railways. The appeal is not a single ride: you can mix the old-station atmosphere with gardens and paid rail experiences, then continue along the Seomjingang corridor.
