Sejong Lake Park & Central Park
A large linked park zone in central Sejong built around the lake, broad lawns, walking paths, play spaces, sports facilities and event grounds. It is the easiest outdoor anchor for combining several of Sejong's nearby civic and cultural attractions.
The 2026 Sejong Hangeul Festival runs October 9–11 around Sejong Lake Park and Central Park. The organizer’s October 6 FAQ says there is no festival shuttle; the paid Hangeul train runs 10:00–19:00 on those dates (all-day pass: KRW 4,000 adults, KRW 3,000 children). The Hangeul Run brings road controls from 08:20–11:40 on October 9, with restricted entry/exit at some parking lots during that period; a car-free street operates from the evening of October 8 through October 11. The organizer warns of parking congestion and recommends public transport and walking. The park’s Biennale Exhibition Hall also hosts the free “Sejong and Nam June” exhibition October 9–November 8, 10:00–18:00, closed Mondays, with guided tours twice daily at 14:00 and 16:00. Recheck official notices before departure for transport, parking and schedule changes.
Why go
Use it as the outdoor backbone of a Sejong day trip from Daejeon: walk the lake, take a break on the lawns, add a family play area or sports stop, and combine the route with the National Library, Presidential Archives or National Sejong Arboretum.
