Olympic Park (Seoul, Songpa)
A major park at 424 Olympic-ro, Songpa-gu, combining venues from the 1988 Seoul Olympics with Mongchontoseong earthen fortress, lakes, sculptures and trails. The park operator lists free year-round general access on foot or by bike from 05:00 to 22:00 (plaza areas until midnight). Concert halls, museums and sports facilities follow separate schedules, ticket rules and closures. Utility and CCTV construction around several sections, including KSPO DOME, SOMA and Rose Plaza, may cause temporary route restrictions in October 2026.
Grand Mint Festival takes place here October 17–18, 2026, on four separate stages (88 Lawn, KSPO DOME, Ticketlink Live Arena and 88 Lakeside Stage). Free entry to the public park does NOT include the ticketed festival. Use the subway, check the official site plan for the stage and heed temporary construction detours. A new National Sports Museum is announced for October 15, but its visiting rules have not yet been verified.
Why go
Choose a route among the World Peace Gate, Mongchon moat and fortress trail, Lone Tree and 88 Lake, or pair a walk with a booked concert. The park is large: the 88 Lawn, 88 Lakeside Stage, KSPO DOME and other stages are different destinations. Check the exact venue and entrance. Dogs must be on a leash, waste bags carried, and dogs are prohibited from lawns.
