Juknokwon Bamboo Garden

Damyang’s signature bamboo garden, built around a dense hillside grove with themed walking paths, pavilions and easy links to Gwanbangjerim and the riverside town center. It is a good rural Jeolla stop for travelers who want a photogenic but still walk-focused nature experience.

Why it matters now

Current Korea Tourism Organization data lists March–October hours of 09:00–19:00 with last admission at 18:00, and November–February hours of 09:00–18:00 with last admission at 17:30. The official Juknokwon site confirms the main gate at 119 Juknokwon-ro and currently carries active 2026 notices, so late-day visitors should check notices before setting out.

Why go

The reason to visit is the atmosphere inside the grove: tall bamboo filters the light, the paths keep city noise low, and the garden can be combined with nearby Damyang food streets and Gwanbangjerim without a car transfer between every stop. Allow at least an hour if you want more than the entrance viewpoint.
