Hanbat Arboretum

A large free urban arboretum in central Daejeon, divided into East Garden, West Garden and a Tropical Garden. Its split weekly closures and seasonal hours make it especially useful to plan rather than treat as a drop-in park.

Why it matters now

Rechecked on 4 October 2026. Hanbat Arboretum’s 2026 autumn flower show runs 2–18 October at the East and West Garden entrance plazas, with chrysanthemums, cosmos and themed displays. During the event, the East and West Gardens do not observe their normal weekly closure days; October’s base hours remain 05:00–21:00 with last admission at 20:00.

Why go

Choose it for an easy green break between Daejeon’s Expo-area museums and cultural venues. The scale supports anything from a short garden walk to a longer half-day, with themed plant collections, ponds and broad paths that work well for families and repeat seasonal visits.
