Gukje Market, Busan

Historic shopping lanes in Nampo beside BIFF Square, with distinct sections for clothing, household goods, vintage finds and food stalls. Gukje's daytime shopping is not the same as Bupyeong Kkangtong Night Market.

Why it matters now

Busan's Jagalchi Festival runs nearby October 15–18, 2026, but Gukje is an independent commercial market. Korea Tourism Organization highlights its vintage alley. Official tourism listings disagree on Sunday closures; check specific shops especially on first/third Sundays and public holidays.

Why go

From Jagalchi Station Exit 7, walk about seven minutes to the market, then browse specialist lanes rather than looking for a single giant market hall. Plan about 60–90 minutes. Combine on foot with BIFF Square, Bupyeong for evening food, and Bosu-dong Book Street during daytime; Yongdusan Park is uphill.
