DMZ Museum

A museum inside Goseong’s Civilian Control Zone that explains the Korean DMZ through history, ecology and lived division. The visit is unusually logistics-sensitive because entry requires a stop at the Unification Security Park, a brief security orientation and travel by car into the controlled area.

Why it matters now

Rechecked on 4 October 2026. The museum is open 3–5 October and will take a substitute closure on 6 October. Facility-improvement work is also posted for 18 August–25 November 2026. Because this is inside the Civilian Control Zone, visitors should recheck same-day notices: military operations, severe weather or other security conditions can still close access.

Why go

Choose it if you want context before or after Goseong’s northern border viewpoints rather than a purely scenic stop. Exhibits make the armistice line, displaced communities and the DMZ’s environmental paradox easier to understand, and the coastal setting gives the visit a strong sense of place.
