Gijang Market
A working coastal town market in Gijang-eup focused on seafood, live fish, dried sea products, vegetables and everyday shopping rather than a seaside photo spot. Autumn cutlass fish is a seasonal draw, but the selection and prices vary by stall.
The Korea Tourism Organization currently lists general hours 07:00–22:00 and year-round access, but these are whole-market guide hours, not an assertion that every stall or seafood restaurant is open at night. Confirm individual vendor hours and seafood pricing on arrival; October is a useful season for observing the market's fish and dried sea produce.
Why go
Start from Donghae Line Gijang Station and navigate to Gijang Market in Daera-ri. Allow about 45–90 minutes to browse; compare displayed seafood prices and ask about preparation, extra table charges and payment before ordering. For a sea-view walk, Daebyeon Port is a separate onward bus/taxi trip, not an extension of the same market building.
