Daehang Harbor Wartime Coastal Tunnels
A coastal boardwalk and Japanese military defensive tunnels dating to the final years of colonial rule beside Gadeokdo's Daehang fishing harbor. This is a historic stop about wartime fortification and forced labor, not the same period or place as Oeyangpo's earlier 1904-era gun battery.
Recent travel reports do not establish today's interior or boardwalk access. Planned Gadeok airport works should not be mistaken for proof this attraction has closed. Bus 520 routes no longer necessarily follow old Hadan-origin advice, and an Oeyangpo extension may apply only to some trips. Check today's stops, return service and site restrictions.
Why go
Use Daehang village or harbor as your starting point and follow on-site signs only into publicly accessible boardwalk and tunnel areas. Busan's official Galmaetgil 5-3 route estimates Jiyanggok to Daehang Fishing Experience Village at 1.5 km/40 min, then Daehang to Saebaji at 1 km/20 min. These are trail-section estimates, not a time to explore every cave or hike Yeondaebong. Individual tunnel interiors and sea-front deck sections may close for repairs, weather or waves; do not assume unrestricted access.
