Daegu Art Museum
Daegu Art Museum is a municipal museum in Suseong-gu, near Daegu Stadium. It combines permanent displays on modern and contemporary art in Daegu with Korean and international exhibitions, education, and family programs. An extension opened in 2025, adding a visible storage gallery and exhibition space. While Daegu Kansong Art Museum focuses on Joseon painting and cultural heritage, this museum connects Daegu’s modern art history with contemporary practice.
As checked on 10 October 2026, “2026 DArtist: Shimyun—Gray Theater” runs through 11 October, making this the final weekend to see it. “Daegu Forum V: Whispers Toward the Outside” is scheduled in Gallery 1 through 25 October, and the museum’s official channel lists “Even a Cat Can See the King” in the Education Building through 29 November. “The Flow of Modern Painting in Daegu” is listed through 29 February 2028. Recheck same-day hours and admission for exhibitions near their closing dates. Monday, 12 October is the museum’s regular closure day.
Why go
Visitors can move between the main building and its extension to explore the development of modern painting in Daegu, regional artists, and contemporary installation and video works. The museum lists general admission at KRW 1,000 for adults and KRW 700 for youth and several other groups; special exhibitions may cost extra. Past visitors describe a generally calm, spacious experience, while noting that popular blockbuster shows can draw larger crowds. These accounts concern different dates and exhibitions and cannot predict conditions on a particular day.
