Cheonmasan Complex Observatory
A new hillside observatory above Busan's old downtown with a rooftop viewpoint, skywalk and ecology-experience space. It gives a wide harbor panorama over Songdo, Yeongdo and the port, but the current temporary-opening experience is very different from older promotional plans because the monorail is not yet operating.

부산광역시 서구청Sources & further readingThe observatory has been temporarily open since June 9, 2026. Current official access is on foot only and vehicle entry is restricted. A September 29 wayfinding upgrade added the new road name 'Ami-Cheonma View Road' and LED signs after visitor traffic increased. Recent reporting says the unfinished monorail is around half complete and full opening is planned for July 2027, so old articles promising earlier monorail access are obsolete.
Why go
Choose this for the geography of old Busan: from the ridge, the port, Songdo and Yeongdo read as one landscape. It pairs naturally with Ami-dong's refugee-history lanes, but today it requires a genuine uphill walk rather than an effortless tourist ride.
