Cheonggyecheon Stream — Downtown Seoul
A restored public stream and pedestrian promenade through central Seoul beginning near Cheonggye Plaza. Normally open around the clock without an admission ticket; rain can rapidly raise water levels and force closures. Never shelter below bridges during floods. Choose a defined section and exit rather than assuming a continuous accessible route.
Useful for October weekend walks but the lower path can close quickly in wet weather. Check current closure notices and follow safety staff before entering.
Why go
A free walking link between the City Hall / Cheonggye Plaza area and the downtown streets toward Gwangjang Market and Dongdaemun. Best used as a short stop in an existing itinerary.
