A free special exhibition titled 'Nakdong Gim, a Busan Specialty Connecting the World' opened in the second-floor special exhibition gallery on September 29, 2026. Approximately 100 objects and video displays introduce the ecology, cultivation and processing of seaweed, estuary food culture and Korea's gim industry. An end date was not confirmed in the official press release; check with the organizer before visiting. The museum, Hwamyeong Ecological Park and the Gupo Naru Festival are different destinations.
