Busan Chinatown and Shanghai Street

A compact Chinese-community food and port-migration-history district directly across from Busan Station. Adjacent Texas Street reflects a distinct history of foreign sailors and traders.

Why it matters now

Busan City’s 2026 fall guide schedules Chinatown Culture Festival for October 16–18 near Busan Station. The Dong-gu general festival page confirms parade, Korean-Chinese performances and cultural experiences, but detailed daily starting times, stall participation and road closures need rechecking.

Why go

Cross from Busan Station to the Chinatown gate for a short food-and-history walk, exploring Shanghai Street’s Chinese restaurants and dumpling shops. Texas Street is adjoining but distinct; do not conflate the two neighborhoods or assume all businesses share opening hours. These blocks are separate from the steep Choryang Ibagu route.
