Bulguksa Temple

A UNESCO World Heritage Buddhist temple on the Tohamsan side of Gyeongju, located well outside the compact Hwangnidan-gil/Daereungwon walking zone.

Why it matters now

Bulguksa is the outer-site anchor that makes the Gyeongju no-car guide useful: it should be planned as a separate bus/taxi block from the historic center.

Why go

See one of the best-known surviving expressions of Silla Buddhist architecture, including major stone pagodas and historic temple structures.
