Bosu-dong Book Street
A small, still-working secondhand-book alley in Busan's Jung-gu, linked to the city's postwar refugee-era book trade. Its appeal is browsing and buying from independent booksellers, not an open-air exhibition or a busy, uniformly open tourist shopping arcade.

Mobius6 / Wikimedia CommonsSources & further readingA March 20, 2026 local field report describes a shrinking community of bookstores, around 20 remaining compared with many more in earlier decades; the count is an estimate from that report, not a real-time October inventory. Do not advertise a full street of always-open shops. Visit in daytime; check shop opening dates and respect the merchants while the district and tourism operators discuss sustaining the area's cultural role.
Why go
From Jagalchi Station Exit 3, allow roughly 13 minutes on foot or approach from Gukje and Bupyeong markets. Spend 30–60 minutes seeking used novels, older editions, magazines, schoolbooks and paper ephemera; ask before photographing shop interiors and consider a purchase if browsing. This is a lived commercial alley with stairs and uneven/narrow passages, not a completely step-free route. The general tourist information desk and individual bookstores keep separate hours.
