West Nakdong River: Daejeo & Macdo

An underexplored west-bank nature belt in Busan's Gangseo district. Daejeo combines large seasonal flower fields with restored wetland, while Macdo emphasizes longer reedbed and water-plant walks and winter bird habitat. Both sites are long linear river parks, not compact attractions.

What it feels like now

West Nakdong River: Daejeo & Macdo

Daejeo and Macdo are different long riverside parks, not one walk. Macdo access per Busan's October 1 official guide: Gangseo village bus 13 to the Macdo Ecological Park stop, then about five minutes toward the riverside. The full 6.5 km trail is estimated at 2–2.5 hours on foot, so pick a short section (metasequoia road, lotus marsh or aquatic-plant garden). Check the return bus and seasonal habitat restrictions.

What's new

New & interesting

Macdo visitor correction (checked October 9, 2026): bicycle rental at this park is temporarily suspended from May 1, 2026. This does not mean the cycle path is closed. In November–February, wetland and bird-feeding areas have access restrictions. Lotus flowers are mainly a June–September attraction; do not promise an October bloom.
