Ami-dong & Cheonmasan Hillside History
A steep hillside theme area between Busan's old downtown and Gamcheon that combines Ami-dong's refugee-settlement history, small interpretation and photography spaces, and the new Cheonmasan harbor viewpoint. It should be planned as a history-and-view walk, not as another flat old-downtown loop or a duplicate of Gamcheon Culture Village.

Ami-dong & Cheonmasan Hillside History
Use three blocks: first, Ami-dong Tombstone Culture Village for refugee-era traces and resident-scale alleys; second, Choi Min-sik Gallery and nearby interpretation spaces for photography and local history; third, Cheonmasan Complex Observatory for the harbor panorama. The last leg is currently strenuous: vehicle access to the observatory is restricted and the monorail is not operating, so expect a 20–30 minute steep climb. Travelers with luggage, strollers or limited mobility should treat the observatory as optional.
New & interesting
This zone changed materially in 2026. Cheonmasan Complex Observatory temporarily opened on June 9, and new 'Ami-Cheonma View Road' wayfinding was installed in late September. The Ami-Cheonma Purple Stamp Tour now runs through December 31, linking five hillside stops, while the Ami-Cheonma-Songdo Panorama Tour operates on weekends and public holidays from September through December and shows how this hill district can be combined with Songdo rather than walked as one continuous route.
