2026 World Island Fair Yeosu Korea

The 2026 Yeosu World Island Fair runs September 5–November 4, with its main venue in Dolsan Jinmo and linked venues on Gaedo, Geumodo and at the Yeosu Expo Center. The main venue is listed as open 10:00–21:00, with general admission and ticket sales through 20:00. The same official hours table also lists a 20:40 final entry for exhibition halls, so the cutoffs conflict; contact the organizer (+82-1899-2695) before a late visit. Regular tickets are ₩15,000/adult, ₩9,000/youth and ₩6,000/child; night tickets are ₩8,000/₩5,000/₩3,000 with entry 17:00–20:00. Auxiliary venues are generally 10:00–18:00, but programs and ferries vary. The Oct 6 main-venue closure has passed. A notice posted Oct 6 says some shuttle routes were consolidated from Oct 7 and a new weekday timetable was posted. Yeosu advises using outer parking and free shuttles/city buses because Dolsan roads are narrow; its traffic guidance warns weekend/holiday access can take 1–2 hours or more.

2026 Naju Yeongsan River Festival

A five-day autumn festival hosted by Naju at Yeongsan River Garden. It runs October 7–11, 2026, from 11:00 to 21:00 daily; general admission is free. Set against the river and autumn garden, the program includes opening and closing performances, drone and fireworks shows, a musical showcase, the Yeongsan River Riverwave Water Show, Moonlight Symphony, a river-themed pavilion, KidZania in Naju, an agricultural fair, food hall, family activities and local food. The venue is Yeongsan River Garden, 757-1 Yeongsan-dong, Naju, Jeonnam-Gwangju Special City. Inquiries: +82-61-339-8594. Free admission does not mean every food item or activity is free. An October 8 report citing Naju counted about 90,000 visitors on opening day and described a flower garden of about 120,000 pyeong (about 397,000 m²). This is a one-day attendance figure, not a forecast for the full festival. Daily schedules and activity conditions can change, so check the organizer’s latest notice before leaving. The official festival blog lists free direct shuttles from Yeongsanpo, Naju City Hall/downtown and Bitgaram, plus temporary parking areas. First and last shuttle times differ by route; check the route timetable and follow on-site traffic control.

23rd Gwangju Chungjang Festival — Songs of Memory

The 23rd Gwangju Chungjang Festival, themed “Songs of Memory,” runs October 7–11, 2026, as a five-day street festival in central Dong-gu, Jeonnam-Gwangju Special City. Performances, activities and parades span Geumnam-ro, Chungjang-ro, the May 18 Democracy Plaza, Art Street and Sinseoseok-ro. VisitKorea lists admission as free (food and some activities may cost extra). On Thursday, October 8, the official schedule lists the Chungjang Children’s Festival, 13:30–15:30; Youth Dance Festival, 16:00–18:00; and Chungjang Night Dance Party, 19:00–22:30, all at the Geumnam-ro main stage. October 9 brings a hanbok/K-beauty show, Asian cultural programs and the W Parade; October 10 has a rice-ball event and K/O parades; October 11 has the Golden Parade and closing program. Traffic alert: the road from Jeonil Building 245 to Geumnam-ro Park is fully closed from Oct 4, 15:00, to Oct 12, 06:00; some lanes on Geumnam-ro 4–5-ga are restricted Oct 8, 23:00–Oct 11, 22:00, with nearby controls adjusted to the program. The organizer lists 19 parking lots/1,248 spaces, but dates, hours, free/discount eligibility and validation rules vary by lot; check the official guide and consider public transit. No official visitor-count or site-area total was found, so neither numeric scale nor a crowd forecast is verified. Calling this a broad-footprint city festival is a qualitative inference from its five-day, multi-area program. Naver blog search surfaced schedule/traffic previews and an Oct 5 advance visit, but we could not verify three independent post-opening firsthand reviews with repeated queue, crowd or route observations; onsite impressions are not asserted.
