63rd Suwon Hwaseong Festival 2026

The 63rd Suwon Hwaseong Festival runs October 4-11, 2026 across Hwaseong Haenggung Plaza, Hwaseong Haenggung, Yeonmudae, Yongyeon, the Traditional Culture Center and the fortress area. Suwon City lists general festival hours of 11:00-22:00 and free admission. The opening day on October 4 includes the reenacted King Jeongjo Grand Procession, while the eight-day festival uses more than 30 programs, performances and neighborhood spaces throughout the fortress area. Individual programs may have separate seating, reservation or paid-experience rules.

Why it matters now

The festival starts tomorrow, and 2026 expands the program across the whole inner-fortress area rather than concentrating only on the palace plaza. The October 4 procession also provides a strong entry point into the historical record behind the festival.
