Seoul Hangeul Day Centennial — ‘Seoul Buzzes with Hangeul’
On October 9 from 11:00 to 16:00, Gwanghwamun Square hosts participatory Hangeul Day centennial programs around the Sejong Story area. Seoul’s October 7 guide lists an everyday-spelling exhibition, Hangeul consonant/vowel temporary-decoration activities, a make-your-own Hangeul hat/message activity for King Sejong, and Korean-language song performances in front of the King Sejong statue. The official city guide does not clearly state a price, reservation system or capacity, so those points remain unconfirmed.

October 9 marks both the 580th anniversary of the Hunminjeongeum promulgation and the 100th year of Hangeul Day. This is a time-specific central-Seoul activity that can be combined with Gyeongbokgung, Sejong Story, the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History and the Gwanghwamun area.
