2026 Gunsan Time Travel Festival
The 14th Gunsan Time Travel Festival runs October 2-5, 2026 around the former City Hall square and Time Travel Village. The official opening ceremony is October 2 from 18:00-20:30 and the closing ceremony October 5 from 18:00-19:00; many street, mission, market and performance programs run across the four-day period, with individual times varying. On October 3-5, the 'We Are All March 5 Independence Movement' program is scheduled 14:50-15:30, linking the festival to Gunsan’s 1919 independence history. Free festival shuttles run every 30 minutes from 10:00-21:00 on two routes connecting transport hubs, parking areas and the Modern History Museum area. Program details may change, and we did not test live crowd conditions, foreign-language help, museum opening exceptions or continuous step-free routes.
The festival is underway now. It is useful not simply as a retro-costume event but because the organizer explicitly frames Gunsan as a city marked by colonial extraction and resistance, while the current program mixes that historical framing with participatory missions, performances and old-downtown exploration.
